We are trying to put together a package price for two tone options through our Bodyshop. We have so far discussed 3 options.
1: Just the roof (including the tops of the doors up $????
2: Bodyline up to include the tops of all side panels and doors as well as all pillars, hood and roof$????
3: a panel option including all the side panels from the bodyline down$????
There is a lot of work involed and we don't want to offer an option we can't price in the realm of reality. Any help from you guys and gals would be appreciated. Any ideas for other schemes to offer would be nice as well.
We have heard from you that the option offered in the gulf state region is appealing and want to offer it to you.

I have seen a TCM w/ BSP Roof, it was so nice & clean, but they wanted like $2000 extra (without a spoiler), but they do it at the Dealership, not the Factory or Port, so it would cost more. Scion.com says ~$925 w/ a spoiler, unless it's custom, I wouldn't pay more than that.

I think the only one that would look good is roof only. Give it kind of a mini-esque look, very cool. Although Boxzilla looks cool, but that was a lot of custom work.

Saw an xB with the painted roof at Drift Atlanta. It isn't a hard paint job, and it wouldn't require much masking.
Look at the roof of your xB and you will see two black lines (weather stripping). The paint option paints between those two, and paints the spoiler.
All you have to do to match this is:
The one I saw had a white roof on a dark blue base. Still not sure if I liked it.
Another option for the paint could just be the entire roof, A-pillars and C-Pillars. Leave the door frames black.
This would look really good on a bright color (silver?) with a black roof.

- remove the weather stripping
- run tape/paper down the weather stripping lines
- cover the rest of the car
- prep
- paint
- pull tape
- put stripping back

Also the windshield must be removed to get a clean edge on the front of the vehicle. Masking that line will look ok, but not factory. We appreciate the feedback from everyone and any ideas are welcome. Thanks again!
Yes, I would go for a 2tone option...cause I did. It was $895 extra. Good price? There should be only 2 in Orlando. Mine and a Silver with Black Cherry. Well a 3rd one soon...and I'm ____ed about that. Went to my dealership a few days ago and they had the same exact xB as mine...on sale. Same color, same color pattern, everything. I was furious. I have/had to suck it up 'cause eventually there were gonna be more made...
Hopefully that future owner of that xB will live somewhere else but Orlando. I wouldn't want people to mistaken me...for that person thats not me...driving the same damn 2tone color.
But yes, having 2tone is for sure worth it...

I have seen pics of some w/ two-tone. I think it looks really good. Use the body line below the windows and paint the hood as well. If the guy at the dealership that I ordered mine from doesn't do it I may. I ordered BSP, I think the top and hood would look good gunmetal grey with a candy apple red stripe between the two pinstriped in silver. Or even do a small flame pattern between the gray and the black with the red.
