Default Cat and resonators for exhausts?

What effects does a cat have on the exhaust and on the car? besides the obvious filtering out the crap after combustion. what kind pros and cons are there for regular cats on turbo setups and do highflow cats imrpove drasticaly the power output or is it somthing minimal. And same questions on resonators.

Heres my N/A review on cats and resonators. They make no noticeable difference in butt dyno performance by removing cats/resonators or adding cats/resonators. Its all about sound IMO. Resonators can do a lot for the sound of a car. I have two on my car and it cleaned up the rasp completely due to my header and exhaust. As for a turbo setup, im sure messing with cats and resonators would have more noticeable effects on performance. Hope this helps some...
