So my gym bag was stolen the other day, in it were my wallet, ipod, and valet key.. i know someone could easily jack my ride now... so until new locks come in and are installed (5 weeks + $650 !!) ive hookd up The Club to the steering wheel. but i need something more.

i know nothing about car alarms but am considering getting one installed... so if this a**hole comes back and tries to use my valet key, will he set off the alarm?

 

Yea if he does that he'll set off the alarm.
Some alarms have a valet button, I believe they could turn off the alarm with the valet button and the key.

 

scion security or aftermarket?

valet key can disable scion security... some aftermarket alarms does too... most of them goes off no matter what... and yea like what ricexizxgood said...

 

the only thing the valet key is good for is so they can not get into your glove compartment other then that your out of luck

I'm pretty sure it works fine driving with the valet key. It just wont open the glove compartment.

 

Isn't there something like a 50 mile immobilizer?

a mileage limit would be a great idea, but im almost positive you can drive it forever on the valet.

yeah u can drive with the valet key.. i've done it.. been wanting to try and activate my lo-jack early response but thats another story.. and the club wont do anything, get the autolock and put it on ur clutch or brake. Sorry about that man.. daym expensive to change the key, do they also change the chip?

 

yea, why don't you just get a good aftermarket alarm and save the 650? the alarm will go off regardless unless he has the alarm remote to disarm it. plus, having an alarm will lower your insurance...

 

glue the outside locks pry somthing in it too. if you not going to ues them agen. onec the locks are out of the equasion you should be fine just rely on your remot
