Alrite long story short. Picked up 06' PW XB two weeks ago. Had to special order PW since not in stock. Waited a week and my box finally arrived. Picked it up right before closing 7:45 PM (I know big mistake on my part, I couldn't wait any longer!). Didn't notice that the driver side front fender was over tightened (i'm guessing here) and buckled. So the front bumper and fender were not aligned correctly. Made a huge dent in fender. Well Scion INC. fixed fender without any questions asked. Got the car back on 3/10/06. Checked body work done to fender and fender is now fine. Now here is my question to my fellow Box owners.

Since the fender buckled right were the front bumper is, it caused a paint chip on the front bumper. I know this is hard to picture. I'll post pics later. I told dealer about the situation and they said they would fix the front bumper without any charge to me. But the whole front bumper would have to be sanded down and repainted???? Should I have them repaint the whole front bumper??? The thing that scares me is if they will be able to match it up and blend it in correctly. Or should I just leave it alone???!!! I don't want water to leak in and have the paint start to chip away. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Later on I will have to give you guys the full story. But this will have to do for now. This was only the beginning. I've owned the car for two weeks now and have only had it my posession for a total of 3 days. LOLZ! But i love my polar bear!!!!!!!!!!

If it's any help, I had a partial repaint of my front lower lip on my BOP xB and I can't tell it was even repainted. To explain a little further: my wife curbed the front right of the lower lip and it scraped it down to the plastic (or whatever). The repair shop sanded it down, repainted that section and then reclear coated it. I can't even tell it had any damage.

Yes, it will be fine. The problems most times with repainting small areas come after the paint is a couple years old. Sitting in the sun and all the polution changes it and makes it harder to match. Since it is so new they will actually be doing you a favor because the factory paint is so soft and prone to rock chips. Having them respray it means better quality paint in one of the most rock chip prone areas. Be happy and relax in knowing you will be ahead of the game the rest of us have to deal with every time we need to do chip touch-ups. It won't be long before I repaint my whole front end from the hood forward because of cheap paint and rock chips.

Well I picked up the car yesterday and they stated that they could do the work whenever I was ready. So more then likely I'll take it in next Friday. That way I can use the rental car they give me to drive down to LA. Pretty much everyone I spoke stated the same thing. Why not get it painted, the paint is brand new so it shouldn't be to hard to match. I might also ask the paint shop if they can just paint my Noblesse front end (if and when i get it) and charge me the difference.
