Default cutting the stock manual shifter for a tC

I've seen many threads on how to cut the stock shifter for an auto xa or xb, but i never saw anything for the tC. I know we have a different set up, but I was wondering if anyone has attempted to cut a stock shifter (5spd). I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to re-thread the shifter or any other methods that might work. Did anyone do anything that really worked?

whats the point? you'll still have the same throws and a shifter at an awkward hand position.

Also, at the price of a good SS, 80-120, it's not worth cutting the stock piece.

i'm agreeing.... buying a good reasonably priced SS is much less troublesome.. and results are much better.

what short shifter would you guys prefer? i like the pricing to be cheap, cuz i'm a poor college student and one that drops the shifter height (the more the better for me). i know that trd doesn't drop the height, so that's out of the picture. any suggestions? thanks.

oh thanks

i want the twm stage 2 also, but damn, i didn't realize that their shift **** cost around $80-100. it's almost a price of a short throw. i really like the classic stainless, but it's way too pricy. if i buy in the package, the price comes out to almost $210. i thought the **** came with the SS but guess not. now i gotta look around and find some other decent ***** that looks similar to the twm classic stainless.

although bandit already answered, here's the direct link. you buy directly from creative compacts.
