Default trying to join the family

Aargh. I've been patiently waiting to be able to post that I was now a member of the Xb family. I put my deposit down last week on an RS 3.0 at my local dealer, only to get the call this morning that they cannot get one. Back to square one. I do have a call in to two other dealers in Virginia (one in Springfield and one in Staunton) and the one in Staunton seems to think they can get one (but not positive), and I am awaiting a callback from the Springfield dealer. *sigh*. Just a little vent. I hope I'll be a member of the family sometime.

I put my deposit down 1 week and 1 day ago, hoping I don't get the same call :\

Sorry for your misfortune.

Keeping my fingers crossed now. I now have two deposits down at two separate dealers. Each knows that the first to get me a car gets my business. One says he "has a pretty good idea where he can get one" and will let me know in a day or two if it will be possible. The other sounds even more promising in that he says he fully expects to get his second allocation on April 1, and I am now first in line for that one, but I won't know for sure until April 1.

Wish I was living back in Jax again, I'd definitely be getting in touch with you

I talked with both dealers today, and I'm hearing the same from each-- allocations are coming out April 1, and that is the only way I'm getting one. One is "pulling every string he knows" to get another allocation and the other says he is very sure he is getting another allocation due to his size, sales volume and other "intangibles".

So a question for you dealers out there--does the dealer knows his allocations a day or two before the first, or is it absolutely on the first of the month-- the first is on a Saturday, so will he have some idea by Thursday or Friday (or even earlier?) And do they all find out at the same time? As I mentioned, I have deposits at both and the first to call me gets the nod, so are they both going to call me at the same time?

I wish I had some patience

WOOHOOO! Just got a call from Jeff at McDonough Scion in Staunton, VA-- my (MY) RS3.0 is now on a boat to port, arriving around the first of April. Add around 2 weeks he said for port prep and delivery, and I should have it in my greedy little hands in about 3 weeks.
