Ok so I changed out my valve cover to a carbon fiber one and the bolts that connect the cover to the manifold have come out and are lost. Can I get new ones w/ o going to dealer? I'm wondering how much these would cost?

Can I get new ones w/ o going to dealer? I'm wondering how much these would cost? ack154 03-22-2006, 04:27 PM Do you mean the engine cover? The plastic piece that goes over the valve cover? I think the only way you'd get them without going to the dealer would be to find another tC and take one of the bolts to the hardware store or something. Kathryn 03-22-2006, 07:03 PM sorry yes, engine cover... Anyone else lose theirs? Just curious, they can't cost more than a couple bucks? ack154 03-22-2006, 07:11 PM I wouldn't think so. Let me see if I can get a part # for you. ack154 03-22-2006, 07:18 PM From what I can see, the part for the nut is 90176-06045. I'm not sure though, the pictures kind of suck. You could email like ken@sparkstoyota.com and ask him. He's pretty cool. Kathryn 03-22-2006, 07:55 PM Cool, thanks for the info. I emailed him. trdsparks 03-22-2006, 08:11 PM Do you need the nuts that hold it down (red circle). Or soemthing else. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b139/trdsparks/misc/tCenginecover.jpg Josh ack154 03-22-2006, 08:16 PM ^^ Ya, that's the one I was assuming. I'm not 100% sure on what she needs. trdsparks 03-22-2006, 08:21 PM You did get the part # right for the nuts though. Kathryn 03-22-2006, 08:27 PM Yeah no it's part # 90116-06048 trdsparks 03-22-2006, 08:42 PM ok so you need the studs. Gotcha. If you want to you can give us a call. We can probably help you out with that. wc01 03-22-2006, 10:17 PM home depot would most likley have them. Does anybody put any effort in searching thing themselves anymore? ack154 03-22-2006, 10:27 PM ^^ If it's a bolt for my engine, I'm likely not going to trust home depot to have the perfect match. wc01 03-22-2006, 10:31 PM im pretty sure they do Scott8 03-22-2006, 11:46 PM All you really need is a nut that's the same diameter. It just needs to hold down the cover. It's really not a life or death piece for our motors. Kathryn 03-22-2006, 11:54 PM That was my point...I want to just go to a hardware store and get it, but then again this DOES go into my manifold, so I will pay the extra to guarantee fitment. wc01 03-22-2006, 11:54 PM amen ack154 03-22-2006, 11:58 PM All you really need is a nut that's the same diameter. It just needs to hold down the cover. It's really not a life or death piece for our motors. We originally thought it was the nut... but it's not, it's the bolt that goes down into the valve cover. If it was the nut, she might be able to find one elsewhere - but I would want the correct bolt if it's going into my engine. Kathryn 03-22-2006, 11:59 PM Thanks for all the help guys! jallamas 03-23-2006, 12:05 AM Since you are from the OC, go to your local hardware store and get stainless steel ones, that would look cool. John zer0 03-23-2006, 12:05 AM What program or pdf are you using to pull up those part #'s? |
