Ok so I changed out my valve cover to a carbon fiber one and the bolts that connect the cover to the manifold have come out and are lost. Can I get new ones w/ o going to dealer? I'm wondering how much these would cost?

 

Do you mean the engine cover? The plastic piece that goes over the valve cover? I think the only way you'd get them without going to the dealer would be to find another tC and take one of the bolts to the hardware store or something.

Anyone else lose theirs? Just curious, they can't cost more than a couple bucks?

 

I wouldn't think so. Let me see if I can get a part # for you.

 

From what I can see, the part for the nut is 90176-06045. I'm not sure though, the pictures kind of suck. You could email like ken@sparkstoyota.com and ask him. He's pretty cool.

home depot would most likley have them. Does anybody put any effort in searching thing themselves anymore?

 

^^ If it's a bolt for my engine, I'm likely not going to trust home depot to have the perfect match.

All you really need is a nut that's the same diameter. It just needs to hold down the cover. It's really not a life or death piece for our motors.

 

That was my point...I want to just go to a hardware store and get it, but then again this DOES go into my manifold, so I will pay the extra to guarantee fitment.

We originally thought it was the nut... but it's not, it's the bolt that goes down into the valve cover. If it was the nut, she might be able to find one elsewhere - but I would want the correct bolt if it's going into my engine.

Since you are from the OC, go to your local hardware store and get stainless steel ones, that would look cool.
