What do you guys think?
Hey, new to the forum.
My g/f is looking to replace her 2002 Nissan Spec-V. It is in good condition and is very fun to drive but is absolutley horrible in incliment weather. The front limited slip is great for dry traction but makes the car undrivable in winter conditions and it also does not have abs, traction control or any "aids".
I have done a lot of searching on this forum, and was wondering if anyone had driven a Spec-V to compare to teh scion in terms of performance. We have yet to drive one, they are hard to find to take for test drives (will go this weekend). She is also looking at VW GTI's but she is disinclined to get one due to reliability. I was worried that the Scion would not be enough in terms of performance for her. She likes quick agile cars, doenst care less if goes 150mph though. Just good amounts of low end torque and good passing power (hence why no hondas will be looked at).
I should make a note that cost of repairs does not really matter. I do all my own automotive work, and my buddy has his own shop that i use for free. Also her current car payment is $250 a month (3.2 %) and wants to keep it around $300. Just something to consider i guess.
Thanks!

my buddy has a Spec-V
drove it and ran him a few times when i first got my tC...a little dissappointed with the Spec-V as far as performance, i was whooping on him by 2cars,easily
im not a fan of the Spec-V anyways, so IMO i would go with a tC, she would probably be a lil happier

I was never blown away by the spec-V's top end. But man that low end torque is great, and the car handles like it is on rails. But at the same time it rattles like none other on I-5, and is really stiff...
