Default just got my intake. but i got a problem. help please!

I just got my K&N CAI on thursday..when i got it it was fine untill the next night when i took my car out. so then my check engine went on. the next morning when i started my car it sounded WAY different and did not sound good at all. i drove it too work and the ride seemed different too. so wtf is going on with my car. also when i start my car it starts to rev up and down with me stepping on the gas. i went back to the place to see if anything is wrong but they told me to wait a week but they made my check engine light go off. so is this normal ??? im kinda scared about my car. please help. thanks.

Did you reset the ECU? if yes, did you let it idle for a couple of minutes?

anything loose? MAF sensor got messed up?

you said "went back" to place... you had someone else install your K&N cai?

I put a K&N CAI on my tC and took it off three days later for the same engine revving problem you are talking about. Took it off and all problems went away. One credit card charge dispute and two better business bureau complaints and I got my money back. They claimed the engine revving has never happened to any other tCs...

i think it'll do that if you dont reset the ecu and let it idle for 5-10 minutes. no complaints here, but i have injen.

sounds like you may have a leak around the MAF sensor. Make sure it's tight and that the rubber gasket on the sensor is in place.

yeah check the MAF sensor, make sure the screws are tight. also make sure your intake is clamped to the throttle body...mines came off and CEL popped. clamped it back on tighter =CEL dissapered. oh and that black hose that goes/connect from the engine to the side of the intake tube.

...if not take off your CEL bulb nah j/k.

I know I'm guilty of the lead foot, no doubt about it

You could that or you could do this:

I like this one better since you will not loose your trip meter mileages, radio presents, and so on.

I have the K and N and don't have problems like that. I put it on a while ago, but never threw a CEL or had/have any problems with the car revving like that. You may have gotton a bum product or something got screwed up during install
