Default intake and s/c question

I have the weapon R short ram on my tC and I'm curious if the dealership would still install the S/C kit without the stock intake box and stuff... I dont' have mine any more.

And also, if I get the TRD kit from say trd sparks will the dealership still install/warranty the product?

Thanks!

Generally the s/c will not work with any aftermarket intake. So you'll probably have to get one somewhere.

I am sure if you tell them to cut the Weapon R to fit they will. If not, then maybe you should just do it.
Bring a hacksaw and when you bring your tC to get the S/C put on do a little measuring and cut it yourself.

But i would prolly guess that you could get them to cut it for you.

If not you are going to need to find a bottom part of a stock intake. I may still have my stock S/C intake. I will have to look.

you are gonna have to find another air box.... when they install the s/c they use the upper part of the airbox again.

the TRD SC kit comes with a new AIRBOX.

so no worries on that.

and yes aftermarket intakes DO WORK on the SC... only problem is that many people who do it, cut chop or do something to make it fit.

i would just buy a generic pipe off ebay and hack it off instead of hacking off a 200$ intake

the airbox that comes with the TRD kit is only a larger bottom box, you still use the same stock airbox cover.

I'd love to know the effects of an intake on a supercharged tC.

I am sure you can do a CAI with a SC just need a proper A/F controller to adjust the amount of air that goes in so thats its not too much. At least with my old matrix thats how it was when someone added a S/C and a CAI together.

well not sure if te S/C tC is any different than a N/A one. but the tC can learn how much air is going through and adjust it itself...

but i doubt its better that way than a professionally done A/F ratio
