Default Need some help with a problem

Ok here's the problem. I was at college and apparently when I shifted out of reverse to drive, something happened that caused the check engine, VSC, and Trac off lights to come on. So I took it up to the dealer from where I got my xB. They ran a diagonistic check and found that it was the neutral switch. So a few days later I go back to the dealer to get the neutral switch replaced. Turns out that I was overdue for my 15,000 mile check up (I was only about 3000 miles over). So the Toyota people do the check up and turns out my brakes in the front were gone. They replace those and do all the other stuff. Anyways, I get back in the xB and start driving back home when I notice that the check engine, VSC, and Trac off lights are all still on. That was Friday, so I take it back on Tuesday of the following week and they run another diagonistic on it. After waiting a little while they said that there was nothing wrong with the Scion components and that the problem was with the remote start system that I had installed. So....I take my xB back to the place where I got the security system/remote start installed. (The system is a Viper security alarm system)

***take a little break, let your eyes rest***

The security system installer people (SSIP) ask me what the code was from the diagonistic check that Toyota performed. After the SSIP and Toyota people call back and forth tryin to get the code, the SSIP say that the light indicators have absolutely nothing to do ith the security system/remote start.

There in lies the problem. If anyone has any info regarding the problem or similar problems, PLEASE RESOND.

That was another problem. The people at the security system place wanted to know the code too. Toyota did not mention the code to me when I took it up there to get a diagonistic check after the neutral switch installed. So, the security people called Toyota and Toyota looked up my file and turns out there was nothing filed. So, the security people give Toyota the last six digits of my VIN so that Toyota can mabe find the paper work. Hour later, the security people tell me its nothing to do with the system and that I should take it back to Toyota.

P.S. I'll try and call the security place or Toyota and ask for the code.

I don't want to bash all dealerships with what im going to say(there are alot of them out there that are great, but some really bad ones too). But we all know about the Magnason Moss Act, unless they can 100% prove in writing and in a court of law that the remote start caused the problem, then they should take care of it for you. I have seen alot of dealerships do this over the years, they cant figure out the problem or dont want to warranty it, so they blame the after market piece. Now if the R.S.(remote start), is the problem than by all means let the SSIP fix their problem. But if they can't even give you a code or document that you had a code thrown they have no leg to stand on, take it back to them and have them fix the problem. I wonder what the dealership would have blamed the issue on if there was no R.S. in the car. Maybe you shift from reverse to drive to hard and that took the neatral saftey switch out, LoL. Once again take it back to the dealership and have them give you the code info and fix the problem or go stand in the G.M. office until they do. If they still blame the R.S. as the problem, have the SSIP come down to the dealership and the tech can show them why the R.S. caused the problem. Anyway thats just my two cents worth, from an installers view. I just hope you get it resolved and fixed, good luck to you.

^^^^ i agree
the code should ALWAYS be documented, so to me it seems they are trying to avoid the problem and toss it to someone else
SOMEWHERE the code is written or documented from your visit
either your paper work, or on the back of the hard copy the tech used, but its written somewhere!

they have to give it to you, so get it
