Default 200 amp (120 idle) alternator for the xB

I got my Iraggi high output alternator a few days ago and figured you guys would like some pics. It's a 200 amp at 2k RPM 120 amp at idle direct replacement.

Pictures are at the bottom of that page. If you are interested in an alternator here is the contact info:

Hello huge alternator, wow thats nice. You'll need it with the stereo equipment your running and you can add more and still add more. Any problems bolting it on? A very good find, thanks.

I am heading outside right now to install it, so I'll let you know how it works. I know for a fact that it's the exact same housing, so bolt-in is definite.

The alternator cost me around $400 shipped.

From what I understand at full draw it may consume 1 or 2 horsepower, so I'm not too worried about it.

There is no core charge and the price I mentioned is the regular price. The guy that builds them (Dominic Iraggi) is well know in the dB Drag Racing world. His customer service ia top notch as well as hi product.

I had an alternator made by Dom in my last car and it was amazing...like GLN305 said, he builds them in the stock casing so it drops right in (just make sure you check the belt deflection before you take the old one off!). That's an awesome deal $400 shipped to Germany...when I asked him for a quote he gave me $399+$35 shipping to Atlanta, GA. Maybe you got the international discount?

Anyhow, it seems like alot of you might be interested...if so lets try and get a group buy going...save at least a couple bucks. I would compare the quality of his alts to that of ohio generator or stinger (ohio rebadged). And again, like GLN said, his customer service is top notch and his alternator numbers are not inflated like alot of the cheap alternator shops.

I'll try and get Dom over here. Keep in mind this alt is built with High Output as it's primary function, not getting as much out as you can by sacrificing idle output. Most rebuilders don't do it right, they wanna max out the internal therefore losing idle output and sometimes even total output.

Hopefully we can get a group buy going and get some xB owners setup!

Exactly. That's why I'd gladly pay more for one of his alternators. I've heard too many stories of people getting HO alternators that fail because they can't put out any current at idle. Some of the rebuilt alternators put out even less than the stock alt at idle.

Why I got it a little cheaper (15% discount) was because I am a member of the dB Drag Racing Forum as well as caraudioforum.com. He had hosted a group buy, but I wasn't able to partake, so I got a member discount. I won't make promises for him, but I bet a group buy here will give you at least a 15% discount. Also, my shipping was alot cheaper since it is Military Mail via the Post Office.

I just got the alt installed today and it did the trick, full tilt with an Orion 1200D and an Orion 4004 (180 amp draw max total) and the voltage stayed above 13 volts. I bet at 1.5k RPM it would be perfectly stable at full charging voltage!
