Dang, that sucks. I can't believe some people would do that for the registration tag. Some people deserve to be shot for messing with someone else's car.

Before I even opened this thread, I was saying to myself "I bet this happened in Cali!" And I was right! Cali has some jacked-up people! They're stupid enough to try anything once. (Hell, twice and sometimes even three times!) The old stickers used to peel off. The new stickers are a b^&ch to take off. I tried when my new tags arrived (I didn't want the 'layered tags' look.), but only after getting a little bit off (like a 1/3 of the sticker) I gave up and just covered it with the new one. That sux bro! Maybe some Scratch-X for the damage? Stuff works good on small scratches.

yeah, I called and filed a report. Now I need to contact DMV with the police report # to get new tag and see if I can get a replacement plate.

i always make a X cut with a razor along the tag to prevent f0ckers from trying to peel mine off. i never imagine they'd cut out the plate...would have make his life easier just removing the screws and save you the scratches.

What the heck??? Damn crackheads. The DMV will be happy to replace your plates and registration sticker, as long as you pay them. I think it was under $50 last time I had my back plate stolen. Good (or bad) thing is that they have the plates sitting at DMV ready to give you.

Looks like they didn't have a screwdriver handy...

Never seen that before - my wife had the whole plate ripped off, but to chew off a corner??? Weird.

That is messed up. You know the tin snips and the time it took to drive there probibly added up to the price of getting theirs renewed.
