ticking sound after 5k rpms...
how loud is the ticking
and dont free rev...
i suggest drive in 1st gear all the way up to redline slowly. and if you hear it then you have a problem...
but if not, i really tink you are fine
and the ticking could be from the intake (lower part) hitting the fender or watever.
and does this ticking noise happen when u bounce off the rev limiter? or when ur jus revving between 5-6k rpm

I have noticed for a little while now a ticking at ~70 mph on the freeway with slight amount of throttle just to keep speed. Any less (to slow down) or any more (to accelerate) and the ticking vanishes.
** Edit -- 7000rpm was in error

Again, I would suggest taking the car in to get checked out.. odds are its something minor, but in the unfortunate case that your bearing is spun... you might be lookin at a pretty penny if its not covered under warranty.
So does this sound only occur when you have the engine under load?
If you sit parked and give it a little gas and hear a ticking sound coming from the engine bay that is constantly ticking so long as you have your foot on the gas.. you might have the same issue that I had..
Regardless.. its best that you get it checked out if it gets either worse, or continues.

Hmm.. well honestly.. I dont think anyone on here can actually diagnose your car without hearing it in person.. bottom line.. if you have your warranty still.. which you should, I would have the dealership check it out.
