Default Soon to be owner..

I am probably a couple of weeks out from owning my own scion xb. Just wnated to get a good down payment ready and do all the paper work.. but anyway i have a crx that i have done all the work to and i love the forum for that car. So i figured join a XB forum to help me with this car. And what i am looking for is any advise on buying one and any problems that have come up with the car so far. Everyone seems pretty happy with no major problems but i just wanted to guage everyone's satisfaction and get any advise before purchasing. THANKS IN ADVANCE

Just got mine yesterday. Loven it. Most will tell you not to get a lot of dealer installed parts. I would agree with that. You'll end up finding things a lot cheaper and have more choices on different brands.

Are you buying new?? If so you are in for a rare treat---no haggling with the dealer. If you are buying used be prepared to spend almost as much as new. Make sure that you don't get any dealer installed options if you can help it. Aftermarket is better even if you are going to by Toyota parts. I bought the AEM intake and Hotchkis front strut bar from a Toyota dealer on line and saved a bundle. Wheels especially is where they will try to jam you.

As far as service I have had some really great experiences. I did need a new alternator and it was done with no hassles. Your first three oil changes are free. The dealer I bought from also did a free wheel rotation for me and 10,000 mile check up. You should be very happy with a new xB in my opinion..........

We're at 6 mos and 6K miles and been to the dealer for it's oil change. That's it. Very reliable and no defects to complain about.
Like it was said, you'll pay almost as much for used as new, might as well buy new.

Yeah definetly new they had one used one but it's not a color i like, and they want $600 more for a used one. And yeah i wouldn't get my aftermarket stuff from the dealer. I did almost all the work myself on my CRX and look forward to getting started on a new project while doing the engine in my CRX. I just wanted to check out any common problems xb owners are having ( if any) THANKS

I paid cash and had no problem at the dealer. No hagle price makes it easy.
Now for some things that are annoying. The box rattles and your windshield will crack at some time. The best thing is gas mileage and all the cheap easy mods.

yeah, got my used '04 xb in summer 05 , and it had almost 25k on it already, but i paid almost new pricing cuz scion has almost no depreciation value (esp for xB). in fact, we looked up KBB, and it appreciated in value, which is retarded. anyway, my xB had a gajillion dealer installed options and upgrades from the guy who owned it before, so i paid around 19K for the whole deal. no real problems at all, just don't beat on it .
