Ok. Right off the bat lets set aside the issue of TRD warranty and mods... ok? Good. Now...

I have been poking around for a while now on the boards and am really amazed that not one company seems to be focused on something rather simple: developing a CAI for the TRD SC.

I realize that the SC has not been out all that long, but I cannot imagine that R&D for developing a CAI for the TRD SC should take that long.

Seems to me that there is a need there and no company is looking to fill that need... Strange.

I think the real issue is the fact that they would never sell enough to cover the costs of all the R&D it would take for testing. I tried working with Fujita F5 back when the superchargers were first released, and it went nowhere simply cause of the lack of demand for the product. I gave up on the wait and just bought a K&N and went to work.

i spoke to kenny last week about their sc intake, and here's what he told me-they already have theirs made and sitting there, except they weren't happy with the results. supposedly, all they need to do is move the maf sensor down a little bit and it should be ok. honestly though, i'm not really holding out hope that the thing even ever becomes available. it was supposed to be out in jan, then feb, then on and on and on. at this point, they're no longer even giving a projected release date, so who knows. i'm in the same situation right now-looking for an intake. i know that the umnitza works with the sc, but with that intake, i wouldn't be able to use the redline hood lift i got. a couple of days ago i spoke to one of the weapon r guys about getting an intake custom made. the issue with that is i'm across the country, so i'd have to sit there with a tape measure, take pics, and then they'd make it for me, send it out, and then i'd just have to pray that the thing fits perfect and works perfectly. it'd be much easier if they had someone's tc in the area to test it on. the sc has been only out for a few months, so hopefully there may be a smaller company or whatever at least looking into developing an intake for it like zpi did.
