Default ambient temperature sensor for the tCs

Just a thought dont know if it is possible lets see....

You know the outside temperature thing for our cars, I was thinking of a descrete temperature read out for water temp, and or oil temp, or whatever else you want to measure temperature wise. Make a switch so you can toggle outside temp and water temp. I know you would need to get a probe for the water temp. You think it would work? Instead of having gauges all laid out in the car.

Wow, that actually would be an awesome Idea. Have it toggle between different temps instead of time and outside temp.

before my tC, which I've had for about a month, I was a big VW fan. One of the really cool (well, maybe dorky) things about VWs is the in-dash "computer." not really a computer, but it does what you guys are talking about. it stays on the time, but there's a button on the end of the windshield wiper thing (can't think of the word!) that would switch to your avg mph, avg mpg, oil temp, outside temp, & trip time (there may have been more, but you get the idea). I had that on a '93 passat and a '97 jetta.

so yeah, i bet it could be done, but it was sold as a "luxury" feature. it was pretty handy though!

since it was made for temp who knows I would love to find a probe that is similar to what is used currently in the bumper. Since I believe that the sensor sends a certain voltage to the incar readout. Hmmmm HHMmmmmm Hmmmmm

We need an EE person in here!!! Paging any EE person!
