Nate did you already buy the intake? If you haven't, i might be able to get you mine after i get back from KY for 1/2 price of what it is new.

What you are talking about sounds like it's possible to do. What i wonder is, there has to be some reason they enginered it for the length that it is(other than for it to be long enough to reach the fender well compartment). So there maybe some draw back to cutting it or maybe not. How much room to you have from the throttle body to the driver side wall? Im sure we could figure somthing out and make it work.

Dang thats a good price, beats what i could get it to you for. I'll go measure mine and that will give you an idea of how much is going to need to be cut.

Okay Nate, from the end of the filter to the throttle body is 19". So you going to have to cut atleast 7" off and will have to be from the filter side, because 1 inche from the TB is the MAF sensor. To be honest the most it looks like you could cut will be about 4"s and still be able to fit the filter on. Which would start the filter right about where the Injen tag ends toward the filter.

Nate i've never been under the hood of an xA, but do you have a whole behind the headlight like an xB. From the pics of xA's it looks like it but you own one so you tell me.

nope, the thing don and i noticed last nigth was that the headlight actaully bulges out and thats why the short ram wont fit as it is and thats what lead me to thinkin that trimming it down would make it fit

Ahhh so there is room behind the headlight... Thanks for the pics Kyle appreciate it.

So Nate the Injen may work with out cutting or may just need to be cut a little and a posibly a smaller filter put on. Nate you may get this to work after all, now you just need the intake to fittle with the placment of it.
