DIY Intake CEL problems...
I bought a Mass Air Flow Sensor intake piece and a filter the other day from Pepboys so I can hook up a temporary intake. I unhooked the battery, installed the intake, and then I hooked the battery back up. I start the car and it has trouble starting... but after about 30 seconds its running normal. I let the car run for about 10 minutes. Turn it off... then back on again with no problems. Take it for a test drive then the CEL turns on.
Does anyone know how long I should let the ECU "learn" that there's a new intake?

I'm not sure what the diameter of the MAFS section is... but just to guesstimate I would say a 1 cen. bigger than the stock air box part.
I'm installing just to have something for right now... I'm saving up for F/I and the piece was only $20.

reset your ecu by disconnecting your battery for a min of 5 min and then let it idle for at least 10 min. You will probably throw a CEL in the process but I am trying to figure out why that is happening. Also, it is a Power Adder filter, made by Spectre racing, am I correct?
I think that the tubing you are using is a 3 in tube, and that is way to big to work correctly with our MAF. It is only used to 2.25 , soyou might look into a smaller piping or a piggyback eco like the emanage, to compensate.
