He's full of crap. They can still do an alignment no problem. I have Hotchkis springs and they drop more than H-techs. My dealer had no problem aligning my car and didn't indicate any issues at all.
You COULD get one if you wanted to. It allows you to adjust/correct camber issues with a certain amount of adjustment. However, with the majority of springs, it's not actually necessary. Some people with severe drops (over 2" or more) may want to consider one, but H-Techs shouldn't be on that list.
Where did you try to get it done?

yeah then kick him in the nards......i have Htech springs and had no issues with getting them alligned, in fact i have negative camber in the rear and that is factory specs.
what is more important then camber is toe adjustment...all cars have some negative camber.
he either was lazy and did not want to do it, or was just stupid.

Are you sure he said it's REQUIRED? Maybe he just wanted it done right and don't want you to wear out your tires.
When you lower your car... your tires will usually tilt as more pressure is put onto it right. --> /------\ or \------/
Normally a car looks like this right? |------|
So... depending your sitution your tire can wear more from the inside or the outside. You'll need to rotate your tires more often.
The camber kits makes yours look like this: |-----| as much as possible.
Correct me if I am wrong.
