For anyone who did their own suspension...I need help!!
so today i was trying to take off my stock suspension but ran into a little trouble. this bolt here kept on turning for some reason...i literally tried loosening it for over half an hour and it wouldn't come off. then i tried to retighten it and it wouldn't tighten up, was wondering if there was some trick to this that i didn't get. now it's loose and when i drive it makes a weird sound, but yeah, i don't know...
ok, cool thanks! no wonder, i was actually thinking about busting out my allen wrench set to try it, but oh well. is there any other tricky parts that i should know? i'm kinda using the article from club-tc.com as a guideline.

I'm installing my tanabe NF210 springs right now, and Im having trouble with that same bolt... except my problem is that I just can't break the dang thing loose. It's torqued on reeeaaal good. I put some WD40 on, tried again and no luck. Maybe I'll try more WD40. Wish I had a breaker bar. >.<
I did manage to get that bolt off, finally. I used a plastic tube extension from an old vacuum cleaner as a breaker bar.
Now I just need to get the 2 bolt/nuts at the bottom of the strut off... they seem to be even tighter, can't even budge them with my vacuum bar. Having the right size wrench might help though. Looks like I'm headed to sears tomorrow.
Thats goos you got it off.
and just as an FYI i dont have an air compressor at home either. just at work.
So I went to home depot and spent around $100 and got an elecetric impact wrench that works just as good.

Just rented an electric impact wrench, and picked up the socket and wrench sizes I needed. Now I'm just waiting for it to cool off a bit... 98 degrees in the shade here, which probably means about 110 in the garage. Good ol' Georgia.

Bleeeaaarrrgh. Just went out and found out the 21mm socket I bought is too small for the aforementioned bolts. (The instructions I found stated 21mm.... got them from the TRDSparks.com website, they're actually for the hotchkis springs.) Now it's too late to go exchange for the right size, because my backwater town rolls up the sidewalks at 9pm. Losing a night of work and I dont even have the front springs on yet. I need the car to get to work on Monday. I'm getting pretty fed up with this. Maybe I'll just put my wheels back on, and let the springs sit in the garage until there's a tech day event near me.
I refuse to let some guy who's never heard of a Scion charge me 400 bucks to put them on. If only the dealer would install springs other than TRD!
