Dublin Toyota Install So Sloppy.....
I recently picked up my car after all the parts came in and they installed them this morning and i went to pick my car up and drove it back to work and when i got back to work i went to look at the fog lights and there is paint chips and scratches where they installed the fog lights.......the guy goes i can repaint the bumper but i really dont want to and he gave me every reason why its bad to repaint already so he gave me a 5 dollar chip mender (chip filler).....I am so mad ...... I told the guy straight up if anyone is scratchin my car its gunna be me.....
Messed up man. They should fix the sh!tty work and fire the moron who did it. What possible reason could he have to say that its bad to repaint the bumper. Because its new and the paint is fresh? Doesn't he relize it gets painted before it arrives to the states. I would call scion customer service, too.
Yeah, I would raise a stink about that as well. I bought a Subuaru STI and there was several scratches on the car. They tried to fix it, but had a hard time doing it. The sales person of course said it isn't that noticable. ____ed me off big time (One of many things that ____ed me off about the buying experience). Told the sales manager they can keep the car. They apologized and stated they would give me another STI at cost if I wanted. I decided to get a xB instead. The STI was a sweet car though.
Go back!!
As the "guy" which car is his in the parking lot and take out your keys and tell him you're going to match the scratches on your car on his car. Tell him not to worry because, being the nice guy you are, you're going to buy him some scratch filler.
I went there when I was looking for an XB. The salesman said he was getting a couple on Saturday and he would call me. Never did. Lost a sale.
Purchased my XB at the Concord dealer.

Hey bro, don't take that ____ for another second! Sounds less to me that he's trying to cover his screw up and more like he's treating you like a child with a scratched wagon.
Dealers are responsible for ANY and ALL damage that the parts & service dept. and/or employees cause and create. Him telling you that you can't paint it cuz it's bad (which is bull____, by the way) is just trying to cover his ___ cuz he thinks you don't know any better. F--- that!
Call the service manager and give him the name of the guy who told you that, explain in an ADULT way what happened and that you're ____ed off and want it repainted ASAP, or tell him you'll go to Scion corporate about the customer service of THEIR dealerships and representatives.
There's no way in hell I'd let this slide, I'd have let him have it the moment he said that to me.
Don't let yourself get taken advantage of any further. If nothing else, you're a knowledgable buyer who's getting mounted by a shady dealership who doesn't want to be responsible for anything.
1. Contact the service manager (unless that's the guy who denied your paint), then go to the new car manager.
2. Give them 24 hours to acknowledge their screw up and offer a new spray job FREE OF COST to you for all necessary work, parts, and/or labor.
If they can't sack up in that time frame and COMMIT to you about your problem, go to Scion. They'll slap the dealership and at least refer you to another dealer, but I'm sure Dublin Toyota will listen when the big wigs call 'em up.
Either way, don't let that _______ get away with that. I'd head out there tomorrow AM and pitch a _____, leave your putty on the counter and demand a paint job.
Keep us posted, and if possible, do you mind posting the guys name you spoke with about the scratches? I'd LOVE some contact info and I'll personally email them with my distaste and unapproval of their business practices and 'professional' employees.

Get it re-painted, the guys already admitted responsibility buy giving you a touch up pen to cover his mistakes. so he can't wriggle out of it now. Why should you be any worse off because some idiot cant do his job right.
I'll get off my soapbox now!!

Yea i took the cheap filler pen...its not terribly noticeable but you can tell when u get down to it....i will post pics tommorow of it.....how do i do that lol...i havent posted a picture yet...
Steve Mac is what the guys name was......he was like the head guy and he knew his dude messed up because he goes this is not good.....then he asks me for my paper work so he can see which guy was the one that installed it...Does anyone think if i take it up the corporate ladder i will get anything out of it like a gift card or a mod or anything?? or just possibly that new bumper?
There's ALWAYS someone else who has more weight around a dealership than the next guy, and when you get to high up the dealer ladder that you run out of room, there's usually someone who actually cares enough to ride someone's ___ to get a job done.
If not, go to Scion!
You should be at that dealership today and don't leave until they'll re-spray your bumper. No offense intended, but since you used the filler in the first place, it seems like you're kind of in the "acceptance" mode, which is exactly what Steve Mack wanted you to be in.
If the bumper was scratched up and just filled in BEFORE you bought it would you still own it now? If not, get to the dealer and get some results.

Yeah, this is totally unacceptable. I work in the service and parts dept. of a Chevy dealership here in the Bay Area and I'll tell you sometomes these things happen, but THEY NEED TO BE CORRECTED BY THE DEALERSHIP!! Not by giving you a touch-up pen and a free oil change, it needs to be fixed right. If they offer to do a professional touch-up (like Aero Colours), they usually do a pretty good job.
I too looked at Dublin Toyota when I was shopping for my box, and I just didn't like the "vibe" I was getting from the salesman. He was way too pushy! Even with all the standard options like keyless entry, rear tinted windows, power everything, he was pushing thos eon me like this was the ONLY xB in the world that came with all those bells and whistles for the price. I just said "Thanks for your time." and went to the dealer in Antioch instead. I don't think I'll be taking my box to Dublin for service either after hearing about your ordeal. Good luck!!

WTF? He did a bad job, he doesn't have to cut anything so I don't see why he had to do anything to mess it up. I read in a post that all ya gotta do is take the bumper off, pop out the colored panels put the fogs in, plug em in, put the bumper back on then pop out the plate to put the switch in and then put the switch in and do all the other stuff. Then viola!! I believe its more detailed than that so don't take wat I wrote as directions.
Sound like my local VW dealer. The problem then is that they will be mad at you for calling them on it and then they will screw with your car while it's in to fix their mistakes.
My suggestion is to get someone else to fix it and make Dublin pay then never go back there because they will get even next time. They've already shown their true colors by handing you that touch up paint.
I know first hand, that's why I have a Box instead of my beetle.

What an ___!! When I bought my box the guy pulls it around and I notice a huge scratch on the back. I straight up told him I wasn't going to accept so he went to the lot and brought out another one. Raise hell bro if not you'll get ____ed every time you see those scratches..
