I was wondering if anyone has shortened the height of the automatics gear shift? I am tired of the od button digging a hole in my knee. If it is a simple task like removing the **** and cutting it with a tubing cutter or such, I am gonna try it when I get brave enough.
It wouldn't be any problem with a short stick like half its height because it is only used to change directions in my car. Not like a stick shift where you are always using it.
Anyone with ideas-----lets hear them.

It is on my list of mods, but have not looked into it very deep. Doesn't look easy though, because of the OD button and wire and the shift button. I have looked at the shifter parts breakdown, and there will be things to cut/adjust and will take some time. I have a bunch of other mods to do before I get to that. But I am sure it can be done. Just feel it won't be easy.
