you cant go by my tank was half full, quarter full. You need to figure your gas milage. Fill it up. Drive. Fill it up and divide the gallons by the miles since last fill up.

I get better mileage than thnat and I'm boosted Something doesn't seemk right about that. I get 360 miles to a tank or more sometimes.

a) Do the math to figure out the exact milage you are getting.

b) Examine how you drive. Do you drive with the flow of traffic or, do you do like most young males and navigate around the traffic using a heavy foot. (no offense, but geeze check the insurance rates). Do you seem to be the first one off the line a lot?

c) Scion doesn't have any thing to do with milage claims. That is 100% the responsibility of the EPA and their antiquated 35 y.o. tests that do not go over 60 mph, do not use a/c, and do all the testing on a tread mill for cars, w/ zero street testing. They also use 91 octane fuel which gets slightly better results. And no, I'm not lying or exagerating about that, not even a little bit.

Not again..... You can get about 100 miles out of 1/4 tank.. so overall you would have been in spec.

Next. The EPA estimated mileage they use can be off as much as 5mpg or more... states that on almost every car sticker I have ever seen. Stop panicking, the mileage will vary on any car from time to time.. same for any car on the market. Filling every weekend tells NOTHING of your mileage. You need to calculate off what you actually use in gallons, not days, not mark on the fuel gauge, etc.

And FINALLY, cause this gets old. If you think you have something "wrong" with your car TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. dont just come here and say they lied.. cause they didnt, most people I have seen here that have actually calculated thier mileage off of miles and gallons get about the same, 24 - 25mpg overall average, which is perfectly in the spec for the car. That is what I have averaged since last summer.

I get about 250 to a tank driving normal and using cruise control often. It might be because of my heavy rims.

Could be worse, I have been driving an Expedition all week. OUCH!!!

Does the AC dramatically cut mileage? I always thought it did, but just checking.

There's your problem. You shouldn't go 200mph if you want to save gas.

I live in MA and average about 315 per tank. I think mine has actually gone up since they started using the 10% ethanol gasoline here. On longer trips I can sometimes stretch it to 370 or so, but then im putting 14 gallons plus in.
