In my region the best apr for scion is 4.5. Did hee run your credit, or was that for excellent credit?

I would check with your bank to see if you can finance through them. I'm sure your bank would have better rates then the dealership. Look into it dude, you'll be surprised if your rate gets cut in half. :D

Im going to see or im just going to be straight up and tell them. he showed us some bs in the big book, for 12.something% of course it was probably the worst bank in there..

Is there a credit union in your area? You can get the best rate around in your area if you go to a credit union.
Most all you have to do is open a free checking account to join.

"Scion Solutions programs are not available through Toyota Financial Services in the zipcode (Palm Bay) you entered. For Scion financing information in your area, please visit"

GO here to recheck. Apparently some Gulf State TOyota dealers dont use TFS as their dealer financing source. Yeah, go to another bank.

Yeah really. Considering what interest rates are at now, 13% is positively huge.

Okay Thanks,

I just found out that Precision Toyota have them, and the guy told me about the financing, and he said "it can be VERY low, it depends on your credit." So I dont know what to tell you. As far as the car, it is there but its a flint and its auto. I am waiting for the Black Manual thats coming next week.

Kaeon

The dealer can't mark up the rate. The rate is totally dependent on your score. Scores under 660 make for some VERY high rates. You'd be surprised though that TFS is MUCH lower for these high risk customers than places like Cap 1 and Americredit. Rates as high as 20% are not unheard of with low scores.

If you use a co-signer with a score over 700, they will use the higher score to determine credit tier. If your dad has a score over 700, you really need to use him as a cosigner. This isn't your dealer's fault. They are just going by the score they see and they should be happy to get you a lower rate with a cosigner.

actually, it wasnt even the dealer that gave u that rate. It's the bank they were trying to finance you through, who gave you that rate. Infact for a mid 600 beacon, 13% isnt even that bad.

Keep in mind, most major creditors wont even finance someone with a score lower than 640.

RoryC

Also, the dealership gets the same amount of money, no matter if u finance, or pay cash. Only difference, is in one instance we get the check from you, in the other we receive a check from the bank. Either way, the profits from intrest rates, goto the bank financing you.

I don't know the rates for your region, but here in VA, a score over 700 means 4.4% and 660 to 699 is 5.3% Things don't get ugly until you drop below 660.

You aren't forced to finance thru Scion. Finance thru whatever you want. Try a credit union, bank, online, whatever.

That's good.

As for people who say dealers can't mark up finance rates.... hehehe don't be fooled, there are lots of shady dealerships out there who will use certain companies that will quote a very high APR and then give dealerships a big kickback.... There have been quite a few undercover reports about this out there.

With Scion Financing, if the dealership does not use the correct posted interest rate they will not fund the contract until the correct interest rate is used. They also have set it the all scion needing approval will first be sent to them before going to any other bank that the dealership uses. If Scion turns them down then, the dealership can try other banks, but Scion Finance gets first shot. If you use your sources for financing that is up to you. This is based what the lender(SET Finance) in the Southeast Region has stated to me.

!3.2 is actually not too bad. Here in Houston for someone with a 600 beacon our rate is 13.75. Your best bet would be to get a better rate from your bank or credit union. Or just get a loan online from e-loan.
