Congrats on the baby!

I would never mount a 12" sub less than 2' away from a newborn or small child and have it on at any volume level.........nor would I be turning on the sub with a pregnant woman in the car.

It's not what you want, but I'd put smaller, dual subs in enclosures underneath the front seats. Since they're right underneath you, the power level doesn't have to be high to be felt AND heard, doesn't reduce your hatch space, and isn't anywhere near the babyseat. If you're going for loudness, just step outside the car and crank it...

My .02.

Congrats on the baby.. I have seen pics, I cant rember who had it, but somone on SL flushed the sub in to the floor and then made a panel that went over it, so you could put a stroller there. I'll see if I can find out who it was or they may see the thread and chime in.

^^^ That is good. Out of the way of stuff. Nice.

My wife and I have a 1 year old, and I actually hooked my amp remote power switch( the one off the power antenna and shytuff) into a switch in my dash. When the baby is in the car..click. Off it goes. No thumps around babies at all. Their eardrums are way too fragile for anything like that.
It's tough at first, because you've gotta haul the big old stroller around-but after about3-4 months they can usually sit up pretty well in a folding stroller. I picked up a little one at target that has "JEEP" emblems(no idea why). It folds up small enough to just lay on the floor in the backseat.
Congrats on the baby!! Good luck.

congrats on the baby...

my nephew (1 yr, 2months old) loves music... I've got my subs balanced where they're equal with the rest of the music, and a gain **** helps out too... I can have the subs on without them beating his head... anytime we're in the car and music is on, he's dancing away!
