Air conditioning-related squeak
Hi all. '06 xB with a manual transmission and about 500 miles. I have an intermittent high-pitched squeak coming from the right side of the engine bay (from the driver's perspective) that is most pronounced at high revs in first gear, especially when turning. If I briefly turn on the A/C, the squeak goes away within seconds and may not come back again for days. I'll have the dealer check it out when I go in for the 5000 mi oil change but I'm wondering if I should take the car in sooner (much rather not, I get one day off a week at best and I need the car).
I've heard a similar squeak in other A/C-equipped cars and my guess is that it's the compressor drive but perhaps someone has a better answer?
Thanks!

I wouldn't buy belt dressing, but a belt or tensioner or pulley could be your problem. I had an 01 Celica with a faulty belt tensioner and that car squealed like a pig. Those cars are plagued with tensioner problems. GO TO THE DEALER while you still have a warranty. Belt dressing always made mine louder.
Mine started squealing like a slipping belt shortly after delivery, gave it a shot of belt dressing I had on hand - no help at all, took it to dealer and they did whatever magic they did (two day stay for the car) and it hasn't acted up since.
