So i've been wanting to get HID lights, im 16 years old and pretty much new to everything related to hooking up my car, but i've always loved it and im willing 2 do some mods. I've seen lots of HID light bulbs in ebay for like 15 bucks, but i know theres gotta be some catch to it, you cant just replace the stock blubs with HID bulbs can you? if not what do you have to buy to correct that??

nah those lights arent really HID....the color appear to be HID but as far as light out put...there not even close...usually real HID kits go from around 150 to 300 bucks...the ones on ebay are just a scam.

If you're that new to it, I really reccomend you go pick up a set of Silverstars, or other nice aftermarket bulbs for your headlights.

If you're dead set on going HID, you'll have to install the kit yourself, and may void your warranty.

Or, end up paying a mechanic $$ to do it for you.

I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just realize you're getting into a much bigger deal than just replacing some bulbs.

i have had HID's in my Tc it took 5 minutes to do the install........take the stock bulbs out, put the HIDs in, plug in the connectors and mount yourballasts... and they dont void your warranty, the worst it will do is fry your harness, you can get a intermediate harness to avoid this.

if you dont want to drop 300 on HIDs do a 9005 conversion.....do a search for it on here, i pulled my HIDs and did the conversion and like it much better.

good luck

Or just retrofit them. They'll never look like true HID unless you have projector headlights. They'll just look like cheap, glaring, knockoffs.
