Default Rearview Mirror Screw?

Hey well I was just bored one day and started taking pieces of my car off. lol yea but uhh I unscrewed the screw behind the rearview mirror and well it didn't do anything except make it very loose. I cannot get the screw back in. I tried soo hard but it will not stay in there. Is there a special way to do this? Any help would be appreciated. It is getting annoying.

It won't help at all... it's just the back of the mirror with a screw missing... nothing more else you can really see.. I don't understand it at all... puzzling it is..

Uh, I believe the tensioner is held in place and the screw put in and tightened before the glass is cemented in place. I suspect the dealer's 'fix' will be to sell you a new mirror...

no way! here's what you do: put a little bit of glue in the hole and put the screw back in so nobody can tell, and then take it to the dealership and tell them it's busted so they fix it under warranty!

Hey guys! Guess what. I actually just took it into the dealership today and they fixed it right up! Soo now it's fixed up and I'm happy now! No charge either.

they could probably tell ya what they did.. .but then they'd send their Ninja Gnomes out after you and your car would be left in neat little piles all disassembled the next day...

I just remember the guy taking the entire mirror out and shaking it and then something loose was inside rattling around... after that they took it back and fixed me up. Didn't take but 5 minutes or so.
