Default Anyone actually adjust the downforce on their Kaminari wing?

I'm assuming and hoping that all Kaminari spoiler owners know they can adjust the downforce of their rear spoiler.

Option 1 - Off, least weight, minimal drag
Option 2 - Default/low, the lip is there, but only comes back an extra inch
Option 3 - Medium, the lip is now about 2-2.5" and actually rises up to create downforce
Option 4- High, talk about Nascar! This bad boy rises up about 4 inches and creates a town of downforce.

I just set it on option 4 for the Modified Magazine photo shoot. I'll be lowering it again for daily driving but I thought I'd share this because I haven't seen anyone with it set up this high. Just curious if people actually knew about it.

I can post a pic if someone wants.

Actually depending on your setup it can possibly help.

Under braking at higher speeds (I really don't know of any Scion tCs doing this yet), the added downforce would help the brakes slow down the car. It'll also allow you to toss the rear end around a little bit more without becoming as unstable. I have H&R coilovers and the Progress rear sway and I can say that it's very easy to make the back end loose.

Either way, it's adjustable, and I'm just trying to let it be known for those who own the Kaminari wing so they get their money's worth.

Don't worry about the option. Just make it the way you like to look. FOr a car like tC, the spoiler is not going to make a big effect besides its outlook. If you have a car like nascar/ F1 , the spoiler can acutally help you to push the car more close to the ground.
Post a picture when you have it install

It's actually already installed.... We do plan on using a stand-alone soon with a fully built motor and speeds approaching 150mph or so. I'd say a wing this aggressive would actually make a decent difference at those speeds. I know most people wont get much use out of this. But I think a lot of people have the wing and don't know they can customize the look so I thought I'd share.

I don't think a wing alone can actually produce down force. It will reduce lift though, especially on our car designed, which is notorious for having a lot of rear lift. Not even those big Porsche wings that used to lift up at high speeds produced downforce, they did reduce lift substantially though.

I love talking about aerodynamics. Maybe because it is being left far behind from othe performance technologies. The lack of cheap wind tunnel access doesn't help much either. Anyways, if anyone is interested here's a really good article.
