Wheels and tires for autox
Just trying to see what combinations everyone is running and if they are your DD setup, or strictly race day setups. Starting to get ready to look for new tires as the stocks are wearing down. Any info on why you chose the certain pairs would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
in my mind the Falken Azenis RT-615's are the best autox tire.

Im running Falken Azenis RT-615 (225-45/17) on Enkei RPF1s 17x8 +35 (about 15.5 lbs each). When I got my tires that was the best size available but they have since released the 235-40/17 which has the same overall height as stock making it a better choice. I run this setup all the time and love it on the street and track

Bump for the RT-615's i use them for a dail driving tire......and aggressive driving, just like instigator i love them for all uses.
i have 225/4018 on advan Rg2, but the RPF1's would be a better choice for autocrossing simply becuase of the size and weight difference.
I think my rims weigh in about 17.5 pounds (dont quote me) which is really good for MAT forged rim in 18"s

It seems like the R/T 615 are the tires to be right now. Where online can I find a decent price, or am I better off looking locally? Tirerack doesnt carry Falken's so any new sites would be good.
Thanks for both of those sites. I found one that I really have never heard of, but figured more options never hurt. Its www.vulcantire.com Had really good prices. Any other recommended tire to run? Just in case the Azensis are back ordered and I need them. Thanks again everyone.
I like tires.com which is discounttiredirect........etc etc. anyway they have free shipping, but more importantly they offer a no fault road hazzard warranty which can come in handy, read the specifics of the warranty for the details.
good luck.
oh i forgot to mention a decent tire for the price is dunlops FM901, we put those on a evo and they perform very well under aggressive conditions.

i got almost 15k out of some flaken st115, and when i removed them i had maybe another 2k.....so i think if your looking for a good tire, look for something like the ST115 or something comprable in treadware (360 or above) . in fact i liked them enought to order another set today for my IS.
very quite, and a good daily driving tire.
