Default Question for people who've drove M/T and A/T

I know everyone keeps bringing this up but this is the only thing that has stopped me from ordering the car. How much of a difference is the performance between the two transmissions? Is the auto way behind the manual in acceleration or is it not that extremely noticeable. I don't want to race the thing but if I get a challenge I don't want to get smoked because I chose to be lazy Thanks in advance guys!

go test one out and see for yourself. it's relative to the driver.

I agree with woodstock, it's relative to the driver.

But, I test drove both and ended up getting the manual. I like the pick up the manual had and it seemed to have a lot more power...but then again, that could have been because I felt I was in control. Go test one out! :D

I drove both and the mtx is faster. thats because it gets more power to the ground than the atx does. reason being is that the atx has a tq converter that soaks up some of the power getting to the ground. imo, i would go with a 5spd for the simple fact that they are more fun to drive.

expect to see over an extra second to 60 on the auto... 4 speed geared longer vs the 5 speed geared for revving... approx 35% more torque to the ground in 1st gear from the stick...

Have a Black Cherry auto tC and am VERY happy will the acceleration, and if the manual is that much faster, and you're comfortable with that (as I'm not), then get that!!! You won't be disappointed!!!!

from what ive heard all over the forums, the manual is alot faster.

with a manual u control that power and it relys on your skills in shifting. also if you plan on racing, you need to get the manual to be able to feel the maximum power of the engine...

I agree, I test drove the auto 2 days ago, and test drove the manual yesterday. The manual felt like it had alot more power, only thing I have to complain about, is you have to shift pretty quick. Had to go into 2nd around 15 - 20 mph for fear of redlining it.

But other then that, I ordered a manual, so obviously, its my choice.
