I just spoke to black cat customs. There stuff looks top quality 69.99 and it get you new guages. there working on lighthing the gagues too. They told me a complete change of guages will likey cost 200 bucks depending on how they switch the guages. their thinking either kits with parts or switching guages cluster completely. they will know for sure in two weeks to a month.

You realize that if they give you new gauges as a whole they have to be programmed with the correct mileage dont you? The other option from the dealer is to have them marked as being off and leave them at zero. Also, be sure to check where they are getting them. I had a dealer offer to give them to me below thier list price and they were still over $200 for just the gauges. So make sure those arent used. Some people have gotten thier hands on programmers, but last I checked it is HIGHLY illegal to even have one. The dealerships dont even have them. They send them to toyota to be reprogrammed. They cracked down on that because people were frauding mileage at used lots.


Just some stuff to keep in mind. I checked this out when I started doing the LED swaps to see if I could do core swaps.

 

black cat customs are a quality seller. I got my gauges from them both for my old eclipse and my old civic (speedometer cluster and a/f ratio/boost gauge) You'll like ur gauges a lot!

I've always been told the milage is stored in the ecu?

 

Mileage is stored in the cluster...just like cars that don't do it digitally

Was thinking about ordering a gauge face replacement, obviously in some other color arrangement and I'm a first timer at this type of job, is changing the gauge face a simple task?
