Default CA / BOP: Trade in your 05 xb for a new 06!

Hi everybody,

my name's Bernie and i I live in Switzerland... I intended to import a new 06 scion xB through a friend of mine in California into Europe. I fell in love with that car about 2 years ago... So everything was set up for a new xB.

Now the Problem that popped up is that the xB is only LEV-1/Transitional EPA rated and as of 1/1/06 the local DMV over here only accepts LEV-II or Euro4 standard cars...
As Scion phases out the current xB for the new model, it's highly unlikely they will ever be LEVII certified while I don't want to wait for the new model, which might look different anyway.

The workaround is to get a end-of-year almost-new 05 used xB with a certificate of first immatriculation by the DOT. Then i'm able to register it over here...

I'm now looking for someone who is willing to trade in his 05 Blue Onyx Pearl xB, preferrably manual, low mileage and in excellent condition for a new 06 xB. I'll be paying for the upgrade and i'm sure a favorable deal for both sides could be worked out!

First immatriculation must have taken place before but as close as possible to 1/1/06!

My contacts live in the Santa Rosa, CA area, so someone from that area would be preferred. They also back me up and guarantee that this is not some kind of phony hoax or something! I'm also talking to Rich Williams of Freeman Scion, he's handling my case.
I know this is a non-standard request, but your chance for a free upgrade while helping me out at the same time!

regards, Bernie
