My friend is in school right now to get his MECP and he is looking for bassbox pro and x-over. I know some locals work for various audio companies, can anyone get this for cheap/free? He just spent a ton of money on tools/equiptment and is trying to find this used or free if anyone doesn't need their copy anymore. Or if anyone knows of alternatives to these programs that would help also. Thanks.
I use BassBox Pro 6 at work at least 6 times a day for customers, its an awesome software. I'm sure I would get in big trouble if I were to make a copy of ours but from what I've seen its sold online for about $109 or so.
I"m checking Limewire to see if it has a copy I can get for you

Yeah, I figured if anyone used it/had it it would be you;) But I also figured you wouldn't be able to hook it up hehe. He doesn't mind paying for it if he has to, was hoping more to be able to buy it used with the license off of someone. What do you do for mtx? He wants to get into custom design/fiberglassing/etc, but is going to end up doing normal shop work until he gets established.
Here are a couple links for the software, one I is only $130 but i think its just for the box design software, the xover software might not be included. The second link i KNOW comes with both BUT is $180...sorry but didnt see n e thing on ebay sellin.
I do tech support for Mitek Corporation who owns MTX, XTANT, Coustic, DCM...well HERE (http://mitekcorp.com/) is the link to the parent site for our company with all our different brands. I do tech support for all the car and home related product. Among my tasks are designing enclosures for consumers that call in and would like a custom box.

Cool, thanks for the info, I passed it on to him. I was showing him your setup, and he was wondering why you used screws and not just glue, and he was also curious what your final plans are for the box, vinyl wrapped, cloth, etc? For whatever reason he thinks using screws is a waste of time/energy.. I have personally always used both screws and glue.
if you are referring to why there are both screws and glue used on the building of my box it is because with all that air pressure it can blow the box apart if not put together properly. Its kinda scary if your friend never uses screws when building a box, worse thing you can have with a sub box is an air leak. Because I have a ported box the air pressure will be even greater than a sealed enclosure when it hits its resonance frequency for the enclosure and has max output.
oh yeah, all the panels i'm planning on having painted, there might be some interior on the doors but I'm not sure yet.
