on tc motors what would be better: 4-1 or 4-2-1 headers

i think the tC only has 4-1 header if im not mistaken. I dont know of any compnay that makes a 4-2-1. let me double check.

they do and are the only ones that do.

DC says they also make one but it's not a true 4-2-1...it turns to 1 before the bend to the underbody.

And to answer your question, I personally prefer the 4-2-1 for the output throughout the ENTIRE powerband vs just the top end. A 4-1 is said to give you better gains at the top end than a 4-2-1....but then you end up losing a little bit of power in the lower end due to loss of back pressure (someone want to confirm this b/c I'm not 100% on it)

I've even had Toyota techs ask me, "wth do you have done to this? your tC pulls alot harder than most of them...are you SC'd?"

I personally feel the header alone is responsible for this, but it might just be me :)

and yes you're right about back pressure resulting in power loss, however its not too noticeable except the "butt dyno" lol
