Default starting to second-guess...

it's been over a week now and i still havent gotten my tC. my salesman called me a week after i went in to tell me that it'll be the 24th or 8/4. i'm starting to think that maybe i shudn't even get this car nemore. the wait is looonngg... I REALLY REALLY need my own car.. me n sister share a car n she really needs it to. i'm about to head back to toyota and get my deposit back .. n the whole thing of insurance is really giving me a headache since all the insurance companies i went to don't even have the tC listed and getting a policy will take a while n gues what my dealer doesnt offer temp insurance so i cant even drive the daym car home ! .. i need to get everything straightened out before aug 15 because i will be going to my home country and visiting my grandparents n vacationin till aug 29 .. then from there its back to skool/work n i dont have time to deal with this crap.

i dunno guys, i need some words of encouragement,..

In my opinion I would never give a deposit on a car. After this weekend and my GF getting her tC I will NEVER give one. We showed up at the dealership and they had just rolled 3 tC's off the truck, no more than 30 minutes before we got there. The cars hadnt even been PDI'd yet. We managed to get passed the other groups of people looking at them and take a look. We talked to the salesman, my GF's mom and dad came down and she rolled off the lot that night with a new tC. The next day we go back to have her CD player installed and I am talking to the sales guy. I notice all the other tC's are gone. ( These things sell quick) He tells me that he has about 7 people that are on a waiting list with deposits for these cars, so as soon as they get off the truck they will be sold in a day. The whole time Im thinking, well we didnt have a deposit, but we managed to get one. I think that it comes down to first come first serve. If they have someone at the dealership ready to buy, they arent going to turn the person down. Since they already know that they have 7 other people waiting. Why not sell this car to the person now, and then get another sale later on down the road with the waiting list?

Many people are waiting for a specific color. At the dealership where I bought mine they were getting in a Flint, Silver and White... I put my deposit down on kept flip flopping between the SIlver and flint. A day before it arrived I decided on flint. When the silver was rolling off the truck someone bought it.

A Deposit will get you the car you want, you jnust have to be willing to wait for what you want.

I waited about a month and then had to drive 400 miles to pick it up...

i called it 3 months ago and where are those people that said that all us dealers are just hyping the car. sure we are.

it also depends on what your looking for. waiting time for a auto tC at our dealer is 3 to 4 weeks and a manual is 6 to 10 weeks. we got 5 manual tC for the month of july vs autos which is double.

damn yo, the waiting list is THAT long? i ordered mine today and it'll be in on August 1st. so yea, 2 weeks. i live around the SF Bay Area, ordered it up at Walnut Creek Scion.

For those that live around here, i think the dealer is pretty good. cuz they only charge 45 bucks for Doc Fee. Tax is at 8.27 percent instead of 8.75 or so in some places of the BAY. License Fee is 164. Interest rate is 4.9. So not bad of a dealer guys.
