Default Need help with front components ASAP

I took apart my door at work so Id have less to do when I got home for the install. I noticed four wires running up to the tweeter and then two from there running to the woofer. Which wires do I tap into for the crossover IN spot??? And any suggestions for mounting the tweeters? Thanks.

Are there any surprises for the rear speakers???

the wire that runs into the tweeter will have to go to your crossover. Then run the wires from the crossover to the mids and tweeters. The signal comes through the door and into the tweeter first, then from tweeter to mid.

ummmm ok? run them with seperate wires, dont use the stock wires. I found that very hard when i realized that the xover was in the tweet! so i didnt wanna mess with it and just ran the wires from the aftermarket xover to the mid and tweet. Worked great!

For now, I just spliced before the tweeter to the xover, and out to woofer and tweeter. I only managed to do the drivers side right now cause Im mad slow and its dark outside. But it seems to sound good so far. I cant wait to put my car back together. Right now its in pieces in the back. Ill get up early tomorrow and do the rest.

By the way which wire is negative, the pink or the purple?

the way you did it sounds about right from what i've read on here. if you don't have an amp you should be okay using the stock wiring. of course, the amp will bring those speakers to life, and when you get one you should run new wiring. but for now you're good.

sorry, i'm not sure which is negative without looking at the harness.

Speakers are in finally. I kept screwing up. Nothing big. I had to take off the tweeters grill and the black plastic bar covering it for the door to fit. But it works. Besides you cant see it anyway with the factory "grill" covering it. I was unsure of how to mount the tweeters so I took off the plastic piece over the stock tweet and just glued the new one on it. Not exactly professional but neither am I.

Only one thing, the rear speakers press against the grill. It doesnt affect the speaker in anyway so no worries there. And I did find the + & - in the tech section about wiring. But thank you anyway.

Do not put the x-overs in the doors! Only shade-tree installers do that! Manly men run wires into the doors (easy in this car) and put the x-overs on the kicks (or elsewhere INSIDE the car). You can get the speaker wires from the radio (the IN side of the x-over) in the kicks. Pink and green are the positives in the front. Then you run a woofer and tweeter wires into the doors THROUGH THE BOOT.
The elements the x-overs would be exposed to in the doors are not the best thing for them. Some rocket science types wrap them in plastic which is good because x-overs never get hot or anything!
Most people put x-overs in the doors, but it doesn't make it right or not ghetto.

do you know if there is enough room to perhaps hide the crossovers behind these kick panels?

depends on how big the xover is? I couldnt with mine, they were too big! There's too many wires behind the kicks anyways so its kinda hard!

These are the speakers I have in front. If you look at the tweeter, that grill, and behind there you can see a bar that runs fron side to side. I had to cut that off too. No big deal.

I wish I'd known about the xovers in the door. Thats where I put them. But they are ziptied so theyre not hanging at the bottom near all those tiny openings. When I get my amps I'll move them. My other car I had for almost four years. And I had the xovers in the door, CC install, not that I would have done anything different cause I didnt. But I never had a problem at all.

Ok I have a question I installed my 6.5 typr R's in the front and wanted to install the tweeters but got a little confused because there are 4 wires ran to it. How do I run all the wires to the cross over. When I disconnect the tweeter I get no sound from the 6.5's? Help please

PICS are better for me

are you using an amp? If so, run them from the amp to the xover then from the xover to the tweet and comps. That simple.

no use in them i would say. Just swap out the Mids and leave the tweets alone untill you get yourself an amp for those components.
