in dash lcd monitor
I was thinking about adding a monitor to my tc, but didnt know where would be the least noticable. I wanted something the wouldnt be seen if i didnt want it to.
has anyone tried the mount one inside of the cd player cover? I could bring it down and still put it up and hide it if i wanted to. Or has anyone fabricated there own housings in the place of the cd cover? any suggestions would be helpfull. thanks

your talking about a LOT of custom work... for what it would cost... why not go with a double din radio/DVD/CD/navigation combo... it could be hiden by the factory radio door if you wanted... and there wouldnt be any unneeded fabrication or over engineering... just my suggestion
I am actually in the process of creating a custom lcd screen (lilliput) with the button intact from fiberglass for a tc owner. I have done custom lcd screens using bondo but this will be my first fiberglass screen. i'll post the result and you can let me know if you are interested.
I am actually looking at putting a touch screen in my car this winter for a carputer setup. From my research, it is much cheaper than putting in a headunit, and can do a lot more various tasks because of the customization of computers. Check out www.mp3car.com for a lot of good info on installing a screen or carputer.
i have a kenwood DDX7015 (a couple years old, so now it would be a 70XX). its a double din, i had to redrill the holes in the original brackets to set it back about a half inch but the cover slides over it perfectly.
