Default Gah! Vibrating Intake...

My Stupid Injen Cold Air Intake rattles so hard...especially when turning the car on.. and now everytime i shift gears or do anything that would make the enging move a lil it squaks like i have a messed up spring or something , and i know its not the springs cuz i sat dead still in my garage , turned my car off and it sounded the squeaking...bad...plus its rainy season in FL , should i just make it SR again? is it going to be a noticieable difference? ive always rain Cold Air in my other cars.

on the side note the mount on the INjen Intakes = Suck

If it squeaks or squaks when you rev the engine.. look at the mounting point right in the middle where it mounts to the top of the motor mount. Sound to me like it broke the bracket off the motor mount like practially all of the K&N's do and some of the Injens have done. One it breaks, the intake rattles around an a squeaking noise can be heard from where the two peices of broken metal are rubbing. Really crappy mounting design from the intake companies out there. That bracket was not made for that type of support.

make sure you have taht rubber molding thats supposed to cover the fender cold air intake hole. the intake piping will rub against the fender hole at startup, thus causing the rattling and vibrating

ok so now its a short ram again..but it still rattles really bad... its prolly what engifineer said... damn mount thats attached to the motor mount... but i checked it and its not broken at all.... are there any other possibilites that could make my intake sound so nasty at atartup / changing gears / driving with the Ac on..

I broke that top mount and my intake was smacking against the hole in the fender. I went to home depo and bought a long machine screw (like an inch or more longer than the mount), some soft rubber bushings and a large washer. I stacked three of the bushings, the intake bracket, another bushing, the washer and slid the screw thru. Now its got enough room to move a little without hitting anything and its not solid enough that its gonna break when everything moves around.
