Default Your new tC - pleasant surprise(s)

Here is mine...

I have 145 miles on the first day, all highway (65 - 75 mph) and the fuel gauge shows 3/4; so, my number is

145m / (14.5g * 1/4) = 40 !!!

Did they put an xA engine in my tC??? :D

P.S. I know it's too early to tell...I'd be very happy if i get 30 for highway driving...

What other surprises have you found? What moves you and surprises you!!!

I'm not sure about the tC, but most fuel gauges arent linear. You have to fill up and use the amount of gallons you actually burned in your equation

I like the pinch protection on the windows and moonroof. I have a bad habit of closing windows without making sure my passenger has all his or her fingers in the car. No one has been injured yet, but now they will be much safer ;-).

BTW, my friend tested it with his index finger and it works (I know the manual says not to but we were too curious). It did hurt but didn't leave any marks. He thinks if he had tried it with his pinky, it might have been broken. -Jayme

Every tC will get between 22/32 MPG. If you calculate anything differently then your calculations are incorrect. Nuff said about MPG ratings....

I got like 4 of my fingers slammed in a van door once...that hurt like a _____, but it had the rubber on the door, so I did NOT break anything....very lucky though.

Oh yes, I like my tC :D

I'm stoked about the accent light bulb that in the low beam housing (like those "city lights" which usually require you to drill a hole in your housing).. pretty sweet. I got some clear LED bulbs that make the car look mean ... there was no mention of this - quite a nice suprise.

While i was driving to work (65miles) this morning, there's this mini cooper S that cut in and stayed in front of me all the time on I-87 & I-95 no matter which lane i changed to...i ended up driving 55 mph and so did he. It seemed that he was trying to prove his mini is "faster" than my tC...

I was surprised to find out that the moonroof shades open automatically! I was always pulling them open before opening the roof. Heh, I guess reading the manual helps once in a while  There were other things I wanted to say but i forgot already...Oh the turn signals on the mirrors seem to be clear, so technically you could put any color bulb in there right?

Are the side mirrors supposed to be heated? In my millenia, as soon as I pressed the swicth for the back window heater - the side mirror heater would turn on too.

Most states only allow amber for a forward facing turn signal and since its most likely LEDs, you probably can't just change a bulb...

Where do I start?

- Grocery bag hooks on each side of the trunk
- Taking off the headrests to fold the passenger and rear seats all the way down flat/flush to create a huge "flatbed" for cargo
- The extra **** on the driver side to customize the feel of the seat even more (thigh)
- The maneuverability of the driver headrest in 2 directions as opposed to just 1 for the rest of the headrests in the car
- The extra power plug in the larger arm rest compartment
- The huge glove compartment space and the little compartment space next to it.
- A valet key! Which I happen to keep in that little compartment in my glove box. (The Valet key does not open the glove box, so locking the glove box keeps your valuables secure when you give the valet key to someone)
- Adjustable windshield wiper heights for heavy snow

I'm sure there is more. This weekend will be the first one where I really get to fully enjoy the car with all the bells and whistles (all the electrical accessories I put in). I'll post more about this later.

I would not keep valet key in glove box. What if someone breaks into your car to look for stuff and stumbles on that key. That would defeat the purpose of the immobilizer.
