Default Want to extend manual trans shifter by 8"

I have benn looking all over for a 12mm fine pitch coupling that I may screw on to the existing shifter lever and then a 8" stud to 8 ball shifter ball.

Anybody come across a bushing or coupling of that nature.?

I did not really want to get square stock and start drill and taping.

Thanks in Advance

Threads or setscrews on the 8 ball shifter?
Aluminum with a brushed finish OK? Will 8" hit the dash in first gear?

No it has nice brass female threads on the 8ball from www.flameball.com which means the shifter has male threads on it. I have a temporarily put a 6" screw and a double not config on there now and it does not hit the dash. Being 6'4" with a 30" inseam makes me all upperbody. It is a pain for me after being traffic for 2 hrs in stop and go reaching for the shifter. The coupling would be nice so that I can make it the exact height I would need . Somewhere 4.5 and 7"

I dont have a problem with mine,It does come close to the wheel when in 1st.
If you want it any taller then I did mine you will need to put a offset in the shifter either back or to the right.

A piece of wrought iron that I welded a small piece of pipe onto the end.
I cut the original shifter rod off below the boot,Found a piece or pipe that fit over the original rod welded the wrought iron to it drilled some holes welded some nuts over the holes to use as set screws to hold on to the original shifter rod.
The other end I ground down enough for the door **** to fit over filled the **** hole with epoxy inserted the wrought iron then let it harden. Then all I did was slip it over,Tighten the bolts and pull the boot up and tied a string around it to hold it up.

Hope this makes sense,Scott
