HB'S TRIP TO CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (09-06-06) !!! 56K ALOHA !!!
September 06, 2006 marked my last minute mini-vacation trip to Chicago, Illinois !!! Reason being that this was a last minute mini-vacation trip was due mainly because my
brother Rich was selected to see his favorite singer Janet Jackson who was interviewed
exclusively by Oprah Winfrey there in Chicago !!!
We were notified early that week and immediately scheduled a flight and hotel out to the Windy City ...
[color=black][i]Unfortunately I was not able to join him in the Interview and Taping but that gave me some time
to see some of the great sites and friends there in the Chicago area !!!
Without further ado let's begin on that early Wednesday September 06, 2006 flight from
Orange County to O'hare International Airport !!!
Aboard United Airlines watching the other passengers settle in ...
After take off we were given the OK to use our cameras ...
Some in-flight aerial shots ...
And finally Chicago was in site !!!
And we landed safely !!!
The beautiful O'Hare Airport Terminal ... (As seen in many movies)
Our Taxi ride from hell ...
And finally we made it to our hotel there ...
After getting settled in it was time to head to the heart of Chicago called "The Loop."
After arriving we saw amazing architecture from way back in the day ...
Working up and apetite it was time for Chicago's World Famous: CHICAGO PIZZA !!!
Yes folks it is this DEEP !!!
After the great dinner that evening it was time to go exploring around the city ...
Downtown Chicago is amazing this time of year, with so much great landscapes and buildings,
it was quite spectacular !!!
Playing with the new Nikon camera I decided to give the settings a shot ...
And back to the great vivid-color ...
After that first day it was time to get some rest ...
While my brother was at the Janet Jackson / Oprah Winfrey taping I met up with a friend and we continued
site seeing in Downtown Chicago and headed toward Millenium Park !!!
This "Chrome Bean" was amazing to see in person, pieced together then fused it was majorly awesome
The outdoor ampitheatre (The same designer as the Disney Theatre in Los Angeles, Ca !!!
More great sites that day ...
MR. TRUMP'S LATEST VENTURE ...
And MORE GREAT SITES ...
Then we called it a day that day and the next day it was time to head back onto public transportation from our
hotel onto the CTA'S BLUE LINE !!!
Public transportation there in Chicago is amazing, we literally took it everywhere we needed to go ...
Seriously, I got used to it instantly as it's easy to learn and so cheap (Away with Car Payments and
Car Insurance and Traffic !!!)
And back to THE LOOP !!!
Age old SCINERGY FAMILY PASTTIME: TIME FOR REFRESHMENT !!!
There were SO MANY DUNKIN' DONUTS shops out there it was amazing ...
Not complete of course without the HAWAIIAN PUNCH !!!
Walking back outside we see a familiar flag flying proudly ...
And back to MORE GREAT SITES ....
That final Day on September 08, 2006 it was time to head back to Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Studios
to take some pictures outside ...
Then it was time to leave that Friday ...
Heading back onto the CTA Blue Line Station ...
On the way back I ran into some FAMILIAR ADVERTISEMENTS ...
And saw the only xB that I saw my whole trip ...
Then we headed into the CTA Blue Line Station and saw these folks ...
Goodbye Chicago !!!
All in All we had a great experience there in Chicago, Illinois ... Although it was a Last Minute Mini-Vacation Trip,
it was quite an expierience we'll never forget. With the great clear skies and weather we were lucky to have left
as Chicago experience rain the following days after we had departed. I would definitely like to come back
out there again next year and spend more time ...

i was just there in august...
i drove there... loved the pan pizza....
thats a must place to go when in chicago!!

I wish I drove out there to Chicago, as much as I love taking pictures
I love driving and so I'm sure I missed out on alot of great scenery !!!
I had such a blast, I'll be back again next year !!!

Nice pictures Rodney. Your storys are never complete without a few pictures of food LOL. They have that old architecture in Chicago because they don't have earthquakes to tear it down every few years.
