Default Features I wished I would never need

Ok, is this weird?

Today was the second time the ABS kicked in.
The SUV about 25 yrds ahead stopped.
It was raining, I pressed the brake, the car didn't slow.
I pressed harder, ABS kicked in, I stopped, NOW.
The guy in the '04 Acura behind me fish-tailed. (Just a little)
None of us were doing over 35 mph.

I understand that the SUV should be able to stop in the rain.
I hit a wet patch and skidded for mabey 2 ft.
My ABS kicked in, why did the Acura fish-tale?

i dont like that the abs kicks in under 20 mph. I was seating my new springs doing some quick brake slams in 1st gear and reverse and the abs kept kicking in. one time when coming to work in the rain, my abs came on when I was slowing to enter the parking garage. there is a speed bump right there before the gate and the tires slipped on it (it was wet) so I nearly sailed through the gate because the abs shut off the brakes for 1/2 a second. sheesh
