RedMatrixXRS 09-17-2003, 07:00 AM TIP: don't use armor all and buy a california car duster. TJ 09-17-2003, 07:55 AM I used a small wash towel with warm water to get out people's feet marks on the dash. then air dried it and dusted it with a magic duster thingamajig. works well or you can do the california duster which also works. nacy333 09-17-2003, 08:01 AM Agreed, stay away from armor all. I forget the brand that i'm currently using but its either Mother's or Meguires. The secret in not getting it to look so messy or oily is to take a damp cloth (squeezed of excess water) and spray the rubber/plastic spray onto the cloth and then wipe away. You can then go over it with a dry cloth to remove any excess. It leaves it a nice black/grey color without being overly shiny and overly wet/oily. TJ 09-17-2003, 08:07 AM Will that stuff eventually ruin the dashboard? Djuan 09-17-2003, 10:06 AM the dealer told me that they use Vinylex to clean it, so I bought Vinylex seems good, they sell it at dealership... NUNO 09-17-2003, 11:27 PM im from new york, can i still use a california duster?? :D just kidding glad to see i didnt post a dumb topic. thanks for the help. Djuan 09-17-2003, 11:28 PM can we eat NY style pizza ? http://www.scionlife.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif eric_m 09-17-2003, 11:37 PM what? they don't have new york car dusters? randode 09-17-2003, 11:48 PM i use the mothers vinyl protectant stuff, works good and smells good too. LVXB 09-17-2003, 11:56 PM the new york car dusters are those guys at stop lights that aren't wearing shoes. they used to clean my jettas windsheild all the time. then as i drove off the would do a little dance and throw things. my friend said they expected money i thought the city paid them. go figure. poppyljg 09-18-2003, 05:41 AM hey yall, what's wrong armor-all? badjenetix 09-18-2003, 08:58 AM I am using Maguires, seems to work well for me. George 09-18-2003, 06:14 PM hey yall, what's wrong armor-all? It's a bit of a religious argument. Armor-all will tend to leach out the platicizers in plastic surfaces, rendering them brittle with time. If you forget to treat the surface for a few months you will not be happy. If you use it regularly, great, but once used you're an addict! poppyljg 09-18-2003, 08:38 PM what about Turtle wax vinyl protector Djuan 09-18-2003, 09:33 PM by the way Vinylex smells nappy, like sour socks... just fyi stuntsbyjake 10-09-2003, 05:47 AM  Do NOT USE ARMOUR ALL please stay away. I used to do paint and body work and the one thing everyone knows is to stay away from that ____. What it does is it looks nice a first and then just like skin it penetrates and goes into pores in plastic. Yes even plastic has pores. It then dries out making you think "OH I need more ARMOUR ALL" and that is where they get you. 1.You put it on 2. it dries 3. you keep applying it 4. it dries. Nothing workes better than a duster or a nice non-abrasive damp cloth. :D a330300 10-10-2003, 06:29 AM I just use a Swiffer Duster, works great in little crevices and in the air vents. |
