NOPI NATIONALS 2006 DYNO 4CYL N/A CONTEST
I took third in the 4cyl natural aspiration dyno competition. The funny thing about was I didn't realize it was a competition. I paid 45 dollars thinking it was a full dyno that showed the hp,tq, and af ratio. So my car gets secured down and they get ready to start I ask one of the guys working are you going to hook up the wideband and the pickup for the ignition he turns to me and tells me this was a competition. Then the dyno tech says to me they didn't tell you that when you registered, I said no. Any way the facts were I just came straight from the highway driving and my car was extremely hot and went straight to the dyno, the temp was 85-87, and the hood was closed. I hit 158.5 SAE corrected HP on the DYNOJET. When I can get an electronic copy I will try to post it, my graph was extremely smooth.

Its really not bad when you look at some of the facts and I know rwd cars loose more power on a dyno compared to fwd roughly 5% more. The S2000 has 230 crank hp and the tC has 160 a diffrence of 70hp. The S2000 dyno was 193 and my tC was 158 a diffrence of 35 at the wheels. Its hard to say how much I actually gained but reasonably could be said 22-27whp. When I get time and I can locate a bone stock tC in Columbia SC I will have both of us dyno at the same time to see the real diffrence on the dyno.
