Default AWG gauge wire!!

Any one run 1/0 awg wire yet in their tc, just curious how you ran it. Pretty sure i'm gonna pull the passenger seat out and go down under the carpet or center console. Also need to put in a second battery you reccomend optima red or yellow top?

I ran 0/1 gauge and it really wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be.

damn.. I used 4 in my system and that was thick as hell.. I'd imagine a 1/0... lol

I dunno about the red/yellow but I've heard the BEST ones (if you can find them) are the blue ones...

I ran 0/1 in mine along the drive side seat. As for the battery, get the yellow one. Red is good, but yellow is better and blue is for marine.

Blue top or yellow is the way to go. Seen to many red tops crap out.

As for running the wire go 0 or 1 awg. Stop by a electrical supply house and tell them you need cable for a welder's leads and they will know what you are talking about.

I did this to my other car about three years ago and it was only a buck a foot. It was fine stranded and nice as hell.

How much power should I be running to take advantage of the 1/0 gauge? I have a 1000w amp pushing a 1000w sub and I'm using a 4 gauge. Should I switch to 1/0 gauge?

all wire is "awg" that's just the measurement... American Wire Gauge..

Mandos ran 2 runs of 0ga. from front to back...

I'd say if your battery is in the back, 4ga from it to the amps should be plenty since it's a short distance...

Are you getting any voltage drop / lights dimming??

0ga. won't hurt and it might help...

i would run the group 31 optima...
if you can't swing it, then do the regular blue or yellow.

if it just a replacement of a stock battery into a stock car, then use the red top.

don't know who "most people" are, but they're definitely using the wrong terminology... go to an audio shop and ask for a 15ft piece of "awg" and you'll be asked "what size?"

also, no need to type "gauge" after awg... that's the same as saying "I have a single 12" DVC coil sub"... the "coil" is the "C" in "DVC"... just like "gauge" is the "g" in "awg"

Relax everyones terminology is different. I am a professional installer and almost everyone i deal just calls it awg gauge because of the fact that it is 0 gauge. Its kinda of like a slang term you could say.
