Default tire wear in winter

i live in north dakota, which has about 7 month of snow, one month of ice, and only 4 month of good sticky dry pavement.
im wondering if tires wears a lot less in winter than summer, cuz if thtas the case then i'll only need to rotate my tire like every year or so since i only drive 7000 miles a year.
no plans for snow tire yet cuz id rather buy a set of nittos and 18' rim.
just wanna get the most out of my potenzas.

well thats where you go wrong first off. you cant really get anything out of the potenzas. I barely go through water and its slippery as hell.. Get a set of Toyo Proxes, or some other all season TRUE TIRE.. Seriously you need to look into a more safer tire than stock...
