Default Rear and Front Speakers change ... help and comments please

Hello,

I opened up the door liners to get to the speakers and found out to my nicest surprise that my front speakers are 16 cms and rear are 13 cms.

Great news for me as I had purchased Blaupunkt speakers for my previous car which i removed before selling !!! They are a pair of 13 and 16 cms too !!!!

Now i have a little problem .... does anyone know how to get the stock speakers out except from drilling into the clips that hold them!

here's how they are fixed :

As for the connection sockets i have the works to connect the speakers nice and tight ... it's just on how to dismantle them (without drilling into the fixing pins) is causing me a headche ! Any suggestions please !

Thanks.

you HAVE to drill them out, there is NO other way. They are riveted in there, all you have to do is drill out the center, and the rivet will fall aprt.

I just swapped my speaker Saturday... you have to drill out the rivets, but, you should have some spare clips to put over the holes for the new mountimg screws. VERY easy swap....If you don't have any, swing by a stereo shop and ask for some... they will have plenty of spares

sotx, you already have rear speakers....

done my wooden base to hold the speakers yesterday. Now I need to fix the speakers. Still need some isolating stuff for the wires and sound proof material to add to the base and door panel. Will post pics as the mods get done.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
